The translated work is an anti-Islamic treatise, and reflects the theological thinking of the Byzantine time period. The author of the article discusses the known issues relating to this topic, though he does not contribute any new ideas of his own, and the arguments he makes are weak.

The work dates from the 15th century, and was likely written by a Greek Monk who was active some time after G. Scholarios (It may be the case that he was inspired by Scholarios' writings and thoughts). However, his theological and philosophical knowledge was insufficient in this field. Based on its character and the depth of its content, it is likely that the article was written during a period when Byzantine was concentrating on producing anti-Islamic literature. However, it contributes little of worth to this body of literature.
