According to the Yearbook of Konya the Non-Muslims in the Government in Isparta from Last Quarter of XIX Century until First Quarter of XX Century

Abstract

According to the yearbooks published in Konya from the last quarter of XIX century until the first quarter of XX century, we see that the contribution to the government of the non-Muslims in Isparta flag bounded to Konya, their lives and their assets safety, economical and religious rights have been established as in Muslim society. Moreover in the executive management Isparta flag together with Muslims we see non-Muslims in active list according to the population rates. For example a lot of non-muslims are in duty in Meclis-i İdare-i Livada, Meclis-i Tenyiz-i Hukuk, Sandık Eminlik, Tahrirat-ı Livada, Meclis-i Belediye, Mahkeme-i Ticaret, Menafi Komisyon. This shows that the Ottoman Empire has not restricted the freedom of non-Muslims which have been his citizen and non- Muslims are in duty together with Muslims in social and legal institutions and Ottoman Empire’s trust for both himself and his citizens in every stage of the life. These attitudes are indicator the greatest contribution of Ottoman Empire to the universal civilization.
