Abstract

In this article, it is informed shortly about the 1237 numbered population and settlement record among the population records at the Prime Minister‘s Ottoman Archive. According to that record, it is clarified the villages and uplands Karakeçili Nomads in Balıkesir, İvrindi, Edremit, Ayazmend, Ilıca-i Bergama, Sındırgı, Bigadiç and Kepsut rotated and its population numbers with the help of graphical tables. In this work, it is informed about the Karakeçili nomads around Balıkesir in first half of the 19th century, their population, kışlaks and yaylaks, and the distance between their kışlaks and yaylaks by means of the documents in the Prime Ministiral Ottoman Archive. Especially it is revealed what villages the Karakeçili nomads settled in and what other nomadic groups joined them
