Verses of Quran and Hadiths which Take Part in the Divan of Vusûlî

Abstract

Vusûlî was born in 1523 in İstanbul that his real name is Mehmed. Abdullah Ağa who is his father was a “kapıcıbaşı” at age of prince Selim. Vusûlî was assigned to “müderris” by prince Selim’s supports after his education of “medrese” he has stood down his job that in madrasah of İbrahim Pasha the old. After a while he has prefermented to “kadılık” as Selim the second has accessied to throne, Vusûlî prefermented to “kadılık” of İstanbul, asret his duty in Konya and Kütahya. Vusûlî that included poets of 16th century have become famous with “Selim-nâme”, poems that written for Selim the second. The poet’s- who died on May in 1590- tomb is in Eyüp sultan, İstanbul (Öztürk, 2013: 43/143). Beyânî, has “Tezkire”–has stated about Vusûlî that he is the sultan of speaking and using grammar of the language well. Hasan Çelebi said about him that his poems are quite satisfactory in his age. Vusûlî has not praised his own poems. He has took as leader Baki from Turkish poets and Enverî from Persian poets, explained it in his “Divân”. He benefit from ayet (verse of the Kuran) and hadis in his Divân. Vusûlî strengthened his ideas and thoughts in the poems.
